Halogenation in footwear production

Reviewing the use of halogenation primers and explains how members of staff can identify incorrectly-treated products.

'Halogenation' refers to the chemical modification of the surface of rubber by chlorine (one of the halogen series of elements). Halogenation primers are designed to extend the range of adhesives used in the bonding of vulcanised rubber, resin rubber, crepe rubber and thermoplastic rubber (TR) solings.
